"The Beverly Hillbillies: A Classic American TV Show ran for 9 Seasons and 274 episodes. If there is a person in the US who has not watched The Beverly Hillbillies at some point in their life, then they have at least heard "The Ballad of Jed Clampett," the theme song for the show. The series is a cultural icon in America and is well-known in other countries as well. While it has been off the air for over three decades, it continues to run in syndication for all to see and was even turned into a film in 1993, 22 years after it ran it’s last episode. The Beverly Hillbillies takes you on a comical journey with a country family who had been extremely poor until they found oil on their land. After striking it rich, they moved to the most luxurious city in California, Beverly Hills. The series ran for 9 seasons and produced 274 episodes from 1962-1971. It is interesting to note that this show was actually not hailed by critics when it was introduced. However, it was a ratings success during all of its Seasons, twice garnering the #1 show throughout the year. There are many of the episodes that are considered some of the best television episodes that have ever been made."
